With his sixth solo album Bryan Ferry succeeded in 1985, after the Roxy Music-Split the big hit with the assistance of no less than 30 top-class studio musicians who let their creativity run wild in total 7 Music Studios. The set list can be truly impressive: David Gilmour (Pink Floyd), Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits), Nile Rodgers (David Bowie), Nile Hubbard (Roxy Music), Keith Scott (Bryan Adams), Chester Kamen (Bryan Ferry ) on the guitar front, Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel) on bass, Guy Fletcher on keyboards, Omar Hakim (David Bowie) on drums and saxophonist David Sanborn, the enthusiastic even with Bruce Springsteen and the Stones. This concentrated creativity produced 3 chart breaker which promoted the album at # 1 on the British charts. The first single "Slave to Love" pairs the perfect sound with the velvety voice Ferry. Just as perfect then the second single, "Do not stop the dance" that never comes to you out of your head. A musical work of art then the third single "Windswept" with "A wasteland" as a leader. Chester Kamen and Mark Knopfler create an atmospherically dense madness guitar sound with absolute addictive and heartthrob Ferry sings as always extraordinaire. Artistically interesting the track "Valentine", where Ferry erotic Schmachtgesang meets the distinctive guitar sound of Mark Knopfler, in a skilful blend of Roxy Music and Dire Straits. The disc is then a beautiful gentle finale accompanied by David Sanborn sax with the title track "Boys and girls". The album is considered by critics as Bryan Ferry's solo masterpiece, which is not surprising in the high-profile musicians set list.
