Undeniably, it is the beautiful cover that caught my eye about this book drowned in a multitude of titles. My curiosity was piqued when reading the summary, but the plot, the survey, I was attracted by the theological dimension, the potential source of knowledge and the opening of the metaphysical novel ...
My expectations were pretty useless ... What a lack of depth, what neutrality and what superficiality in treating underlying theme! I come out with the feeling of having been cheated, most issues still considered largely unanswered.
So yes, it's a good novel, the plot is solid, its progressive course, its classic characters in their atypia include all components of an interesting thriller: a great commissioner, a sadistic assassin and torture, murder rivaling ignominy described in every detail ... but it does not go away ...
Too bad!
