Bought this adapter to an old DVD burner (IDE) to a new board to connect (no IDE connector). But nix wars with Plug and play: First went nix, in BIOS the drive was not detected. After looking around in forums and myself trying out then the big wow factor: How do you get the thing up and running so? 1) Connect adapter to IDE drive, power to, and to correct PIN on the adapter to SATA cable (in my case, "Sata Host -> IDE HDD) and SATA cable to a free plug on the Board JUMPER the drive to MASTER.! 2) Jump into the BIOS to SATA controller settings and there the mode to "IDE" change (not AHCI which is not !!!) 3) restart, again purely in the BIOS, and because the drive should then be detected
Due to the complicated way and the total lack of guidance "only" 4 stars
