So for less touristic corners it is useful, but if you just stick in Tokyo and Kyoto (+ vicinity), that are usually people for a first trip there, prefer Backpacker Guides Escapes or Michelin much better facts (in order of preference for all tested), but avoid this one.
A force of all want to treat, this guide is very incomplete for these two major cities.
Further points of interest are mentioned often in the wrong place on the charts, even some no longer exist (strange for a supposed guide to be updated), and is generally very poorly arranged.
