I loved this book from start to finish. I do not even know if I can review it without just plain old gushing over it. I really felt for thesis characters. I saw how pride and anger can make people say and do the opposite of how theyfeel. I saw how men (and women) of vision sometimes have to do what is hard and painful in order to serve the greater good. As in all of the books by this author There is a happy ending, yet there were enough twists and turns for me to make me appreciate the ending all the more. This was her Perhaps only book with a strong character and mother That was nice to see. The main characters are very fleshed out and of course there is lots of humor and smoldering passions. There is a little bit of 20th century ideals did I Wonder If They really would have had a place in Scotland 300 years ago, but I can willingly forgive those things. This is a wonderful book, Perhaps my favorite of the author's. You want to reread it many times over - promise!
