Captivating from the second minute

I own Colin McRae Dirt now for five days, after I stumbled picked it off the shelf. During the first game experience was rather frustrating (determined 10x landed in the ditch on a distance of about 2 km), you learn within the next 1-2 races quickly that in this game less (gas) is often more. Definitely not a lead foot is required in this game. Especially in the beginner level but you can actually already from the 2nd attempt at a rather over-cautious driving style to win consistently.

From that point on the learning curve rose with me as an absolute novice rally sharply, interrupted only by the ever-new vehicles with a completely different driving behavior. The career mode designed to incredibly varied, entertaining and captivating; on the one hand by the different types of races on different routes and the compulsion to make friends with cars, you do not actually want to go. Especially, this decision of the designers that you _not_ ever can drive his favorite car, but is forced to different classes of vehicles, is amazingly beneficial proves to be extremely fun. For me, as someone who preferred more action-packed racing game and the Rally games without an opponent for a Verusch were far too dry, the game offers a perfect blend of head-to-head race and individual time trial.

Meanwhile, I have completed the entire career mode in nearly 200 races and more than 8 hours of actual driving time and there is still no chance for boredom. In this game, even the XBox rewards were motivating.

The only drawback is the fact that on a single Xbox 360 no multiplayer races (system link or Xbox Live required) are possible. As a single player game for me but absolutely one of the best games available on the Xbox 360!
