Kenza Farah - known as Rapsternchen the French hip-hop sky a few years ago - is advancing into the realm of mass-compatible Pop. On the previous album "4 Love" this development could already guess. Although the songs were often very annoying rap, but you could see the example of "Avec toi", "Lucky" and "Changer d'air" already, where the development should go well. Now it has arrived where the money is made. In the pop business. With catchy melodies, simple texts and good humor. This trend is understandable since also Kenza with their music wants to earn their livelihood. Yet it is also a little sad. For women who rap, make good lyrics and convey real messages are few and far between. That alone is enough for 3 stars.
I have yet awarded 4 stars, because the album objectively speaking has become a good pop album. It exudes a good mood, you can identify with the themes sung and is entrained directly from most songs. In one or the other song Oriental and Latin American sounds have been incorporated ("Mi Amor", "les chaines Briser"). And luckily found completely hidden also the reason why I have come to love Kenza: Rap ("MDF", "Entre deux rives", "Problèmes"). The sound is fresh and light like a mistral breeze on the beach in Marseille. The origin can be just not quite hide. And that's just as well.
