Good idea, but rather rely on the new Nano V2!

I had about a year ago, a pair of Nanos (with and without "Glows in the Dark" effect) appointed to look what my cat to the small Krabblern say. They were immediately impressed and started already starting to flit, when I took the small Nanos in the hand. The crawlers working on all smooth surfaces, I've tried (parquet, laminate, tiles), properly. The functioning of the Nanos, but not for carpets! There they move not centimeters. Also, one should take care of possible corners where the Nanos could become wedged. When that happens under furniture, then it may well be a bit annoying, because vorzuholen the crawlers again.

Since there are now already a new version of the Nano in the market are (Nano V2), I will compare them with the older.

Overall, I had ordered 5 Nanos, of which, 4 were broken after a very short time.

War had happened?

Looking at the Nanos exactly, then you realize that the screw of the battery compartment has been very fragile. The screw is screwed directly onto the plastic body. Unfortunately, the plastic base is very vulnerable and minimum torques let the screw already overtighten, with the result that the battery compartment can be screwed no longer and the battery is loose in the socket. As a result, no uniform contact be made and the Nano refuses to work.

Is quite different from the new Nano V2. Here small metal nuts are enclosed in the body, which serve as a thread for the screw. There's no danger of overturn more and the battery compartment can also be the multiple replace the battery, clean and tight close again.

The second major difference with the new Nano V2 Krabblern concerns the feet. They tend to me to laminate rather circular motions. The V2 comes with a few less feet and runs significantly longer than the straight first Nanos. The rate has increased slightly.

The third difference concerns the Aufrichteverhalten the Nanos. When the first-generation Nanos, which did not always work right away and just at slightly weaker battery, they no longer managed to sit up on their own again.

With V2, a few sensors are now approached the back. Actually it is used for, to enable small Nanos horizontal climbing. A positive side effect of the sensor, however, is that the new Nano can much easier and faster turn again now, when he is again fallen on his back.

The Nanos, are in any case a very interesting idea and have brought a lot of fun my cats. Unfortunately, just problems with the first version but still quite at the quality and the design was still in need of improvement in terms of functionality.

Hexbug has done with the new Nanos, all the work and developed the small Krabbler consistently. Old design errors have been corrected and thus enable even better functionality and a longer life. This also slightly higher purchase price pays for itself very quickly and makes the new V2 for better choice.
