You can see the new CD only moderately or almost not more compared to the last album, although the style is more typical, but overall, the CD is much more melodic than anything else what the guys have ever done. The opener "The Flood" knows how to convince. It is really fast and going is slow and melodic to the end, with a nice short guitar solo comes really pure metal mood. "The Medication" then falls a bit out of the ordinary, but builds perfectly on "The Flood" on. This is one of the few songs on the album, where it is still really gets down to business, and would therefore certainly also found on "Revolver" his place. "The Crowning" would also single out, in the verses is yelling accustomed itself this is a very typical hardcore / metalcore song. With "The Reflection" it starts quite slowly, but immediately uses the shouts and the guitar. The song reminds me still a bit of "Burnt To A Shell" although there are many differences. "The Prosecution" begins with a real reef, which verses are quite typical hardcore moderately grunted, the chorus is very melodic and poppy. As it were a mix of old school hardcore and modern New Metal. "The Fallout" is also such a killer song. But go rather towards up-tempo ballad, before the opening riff can tackle it calmly, and during the verses, it is very quiet (which the hardness terms). Really cool. A quick "The Medusa" which is perhaps the best song from the album, very sluggish number, you might also need to hear twice until you find pleasure in it, but if you did then, it pops tidy, even otherwise it's a very getting used to Song.
Overall, the CD sounds more typical for The Haunted, only the pace was often scaled down somewhat, and substantially cut the Shout Parts. It definitely has the courage to change and apparently wanted no second "Revolver", which is just as well, I think, because this CD makes the haunted finally to an individual act, because with Slayer this CD should not be associated securely. Only you have to be careful when go on like this, they do not eventually sink into the metalcore pot, like so many others, but with this album certainly not because of Metalcore is still some distance away, you can sound just does not define a genre only with "The Haunted".
