Tips:
The scanning times for transmitted light scans are customary for a long time (up to 4 minutes per image), therefore the purchase of additional transmitted light scan frame is recommended. Then you can already prepare a framework, while the other is being scanned.
The scanning of negatives, especially discolored by older, succeed much better with Vuescan (separately purchased software). The Wegrechnen the masking of negative films is always a guessing game with the combination Epson Software, and Photoshop / Lightroom. With Vuescan goes easier and better.
Clean all originals (transmitted and reflected light) with compressed air, in our case, keep up a small airbrush compressor. The document glass needs to be cleaned regularly - here is compressed air, the first approach, after lens cleaning fluid is recommended.
The scan results are good enough and in a direct comparison with the V330 also visibly better for amateurs by far. KB-slides we would but that's not scan because it A) is too time consuming and B) clearly behind the special scanner Reflecta DigitDia 4000 remain the results. For medium format is available in this price range but no alternative.
Auflichtscans (paper prints) benefit from the high resolution and succeed especially after calibration with Vuescan very good.
In absolute terms, I would give the scanner 4 stars, but the overall package price and performance clearly deserves 5 stars.
