Reflective originals ok, but quite Transparency makes problems

For the price you can not complain to, unless you're looking for a scanner for reflective originals.
Here, the V370 makes a lot of good, is sufficiently fast and smooth templates are also very well scanned (unless you're using the automatic mode of the software).

The problem, however, are:
- Only slightly undulating reflective originals. In order to get smooth on the glass, for example, one must create a slightly thicker magazine between original back cover and because the latter not enough supplies pressure for such templates. Not even when the lid from above complains.
- Negative and slide scans. My copy provides thereby a plurality of continuous strips regardless of the template used. The striped pattern looks as if the sensor a few dead pixels which makes it unfortunately completely useless for my main application. I ewarte no results as it provides a dedicated negative or drum scanners (which goes with flatbed simply do not), but at least the streak-free scans should not hesitate to be.
And yes, the glass is clean.
A closer look at the same strips also occur in reflective originals, but they fall because not so massive because the templates are simply much larger. I currently help me so, SW Negative classically zoom and then scan the prints - which is not possible with slides, of course.

The processing is the price accordingly shaky. That would be acceptable in pure reflective originals.
But if you want more than two strips Negative scan, the scanner bed bugs quite formidable. I have every time afraid to break the thing, because it - once closed - will go up only with a lot of wiggling and tugging. Does not fit on you, makes you look nor can fine fingerprints on glass or negative strips.

What Epson has thought in the arrangement of the terminals, hinges and keys, only knows the sky. If one scanner with connectors and hinges backwards to as simply open the lid and can cause the cord sense, the keys are the right rear and rotated 90 ° from the reading direction.
If one of the scanner with the keys in the reading direction forward on the table, the opening of the lid and the insertion of negative strips designed fiddly and the cables flying around in the middle on the table.
It would have made more sense, the key is rotated 90 ° and installed on the other side, there would then be the whole meaning.

Interesting way: Due to the banding I wanted to complain about the scanner after the 30-day return period regularly. To this end, there is no part of Amazon online form, reference is made to the producer, or you should contact the customer service. This in turn turns out - though not impossible - yet relatively difficult.
In my view, the dealer to the customer's first responsibility. Complaints same shift on the manufacturer is just typical Amazon and strengthen again my preference for local retailers (NOT Saturn and Co., I mean right dealer who love their products), when it comes to higher quality tools and electronics.
I'm pretty sure, would that my local photo retailer even after> 30 days for the purpose of sending withdrawn the scanner for manufacturers and credited with the purchase of the CanoScan 9000F Mark II. Of the latter, I hope - to scan only the possibility even medium format - a significantly better handling and perhaps a bit less plastic feel.
