The currently newest Android 4.4 is used (as of June 2014). This is really good, no problems as far as I could determine this. However, and this is the only reason why there is no four star, the unit has no LEDs. The small lamp to display while the screen is disabled if there was a new message (SMS, Whatsapp etc.) or a phone call in the absence. Incomprehensible. The camera is also quite fast and the images balanced exposure (good white balance). It is not the best camera (5 MP), but the images can be quite impressive. Most will anyway show the images only on an electronic medium and rarely print. The diagonal of 11.5 cm provides a big screen but also for a device size, which ensures that the device does not fit in any shirt / trouser pocket.
MEMORY
1GB RAM for currently running applications is suitable, more is always better in this case, but here I had no problems so far. 4 GB flash memory (permanently installed memory for storing apps on the device or eg for photos, music, etc.) is actually not enough if you want to use the equipment intensive. Fortunately, there are but to expand the memory with an SD memory card a possibility.
DISPLAY
Certainly there are higher resolution, but the display used is sufficient to allow in my opinion completely to a pleasant, eye-friendly operation. I have no Distinguish formally jumped into the eye compared to my higher-resolution "older" cell phone. This perhaps can be seen in a direct comparison, but in everyday use this is not a problem.
SPEED
For me blameless, it seems to me that all components are very well matched. The unit can be operated smoothly. Of course, this also depends on the used apps (software), but the standard applications run blameless.
BATTERY
With little use (and a few short phone calls, no internet surfing, but wireless active plus automatic updates of some apps) make the battery for about a week and now has 20% power. This really is very good. With intensive use (daily use, often phoning plus Internet browsing, enabled wireless and employment with all the possibilities), the battery lasted even at least four days. This is also a gratifying value. My old phone, which was significantly more expensive, these values can not be reached.
CONCLUSION
Basically, I like the device within this cost / entry level and it would therefore deserved four stars, but the lack of LED and this is certainly not one of the most cost-intensive functions diminishes the usability unnecessarily. But who can do without it receives a decent, stable, not cheap-acting device.
