Dominant themes do not exist, each book has its own Meloodie, but that's not bad, even if I stand personally on themes variations, particularly the "Baby Elephant Walk" I would have liked to hear even more versions.
Opens the CD with the beautiful and African tinged "Theme From Hatari". And now heard the already mentioned "Baby Elephant Walk", the classic and a masterpiece of Mancini, next to the famous theme of "Pink Panther". The squeaky, driving music is, even after decades simply a dream!
After many sounded jazzy, inspired pieces, such as "Fathers Feathers", the bittersweet "Nightside" or the rousing "Big Band Bwana".
"The Sounds Of Hatari" is one of my favorites because of the drumming Rythmik and the great atmosphere. Again, the African flair comes across nicely.
"The Soft Touch" is absolutely gorgeous and delicate, for romantics a pleasure. ^^
Finally, the dynamic and opulent "Crocodile, Go Home".
30 minutes a little bit, I would personally prefer more music, but the quality for me is always more important than quantity. Henry Mancini is a great composer who has not for nothing marked the film music world. "Hatari" is a small, fine score, mixed with African and jazz elements. A BUY recommendation for this classic!
