Obviously, the scolding of "X & Y" Coldplay has thought provoking. Although the album was not bad and had to offer some beautiful songs, the patience of many critics was at least at the end. Not enough variety, predictable, no surprises, stagnation - so the tenor, "X & Y". Coldplay are mature enough to take this criticism to heart and not in a defiant "Now more than ever" - to remain attitude. The answer could not be better than with "Viva la vida". That it is the direct successor to "X & Y", you want to believe, because that here Dargebotene differs sometimes significantly from the old Coldplay. Of course, that does not mean that more recently has to do without the typical "Coldplay Ness", but have Chris Martin & Co. their sound a little TLC subjected. The individual elements are much tastier and "artistic" arranged as last. In addition, there is both between and within the songs before a variability that makes the album very interesting and exciting. The melodies and harmonies falling out subtle and are not long so pathetic as in earlier times. This album takes a while before it ignites, but then plays its addictive effect fully. May be Mitgeschwelgt course anyway. "Lost" if, "42", "Yes" or "Death and All His Friends" - the album is full of future classic. Failures there is actually no. The einfallsloseste track seems to me yet, "Lovers in Japan / Reign of love" to be, but this is by no means bad. Coldplay fans of the first hour have to rethink with this album. Your heroes they will hardly recognize, but should take your time and do not write the album right after the first impression in the wind. Who against Coldplay previously held for a typical best-of-band whose albums have particularly long half-life, should "Viva la vida" antesten umbedingt. In a few years you may say that it was thanks to this album that Coldplay still have relevance and advanced 21st century.
