Colorful cross section of the oeuvre of 1979-83

For the 15th anniversary of the label ECM, a series of 10 albums has been released, out of ten musicians who worked since their early days with ECM. One of these, published in "Works" albums comes from Pat Metheny and containing 50 minutes of music from the albums "New Chautauqua" to "Travels". Metheny has significantly evolved in this period of pure guitar accented jazz to more complex and with symphonic overtones from the keyboard composing musicians. This development also carries this album bill. Accordingly difficult is an evaluation. Anyone who loves the "old" and Metheny estimates is with some recent works have difficulties and vice versa.
