Whatever You Want (Audio CD)

Customer Review

"Whatever You Want" is the 12th studio album of Status Quo and released in October 1979. At that time, the group brought a new album in rhythm to the market. Recorded it was Francis Rossi (guitar, vocals), Rick Parfitt (Rhythm Guitar, Vocals), Alan Lancaster (bass, vocals) and John Coghlan (Drums). Plus Andy Bown (Keyboards), which firmly belonged to the band since 1977. It was produced again by Pip Williams.

"Whatever You Want" is a typical album of the group from England. Immediately after the first notes you immediately recognize who strikes up here. The intro to the title track is extremely well succeeded and is a strong entry into the plate. In addition to the title song like the fleet `Shady lady` and the long` Breaking Away '. Completely untypical of Quo's `Living on an Island`, waiting it but on Acoustic guitars with and a relaxed atmosphere. Overall, however, notable that the album was somewhat crisp again, compared to the direct predecessor "If You Can`t Stand The Heat". `Living on is to Island` here the exception to the rule. A failure to look for among the 10 pieces in vain.

"Whatever You Want" reached number 3 in the UK and number 9 in the charts and was thus a further success for the likeable group to Parfitt and Rossi. As written, it is better than its predecessor, the quality of the albums "Hello", "Quo" and "Blue For You" is not quite achieved. Thus, 4 stars go out this time. The title track is still a must in concerts of Quo.
