Black Guards is thankfully free of the Zeitgeist and thus really nice old-fashioned.
The tactical RPG begins with the creation of the protagonist and here are two ways character creation.
First, can quickly and easily an Avatar come to life, or one defined manually and by die roll the characteristics and talents of heroes.
The adventure begins with a brief introduction and then adjusts quickly before the individual party members. Here scores Black Guards for the first time significantly. The heroes are not character-free but have a recognizable profile and bring the player repeatedly to smile or think. The dialogues are grown up and never childish or silly. In these short breaks the story is conveyed and the relationships are explained. This is not a triple-A cinema as it staged a Dragon Age, but it serves its purpose and it has style.
The core of this role-playing game is but eh not the story that are in fact the turn-based battles.
And here Black Guards scores really. The binary brawls are staged namely really good and fun to play. The development of the characters and their equipment make this the clear difference between victory or defeat. Who sinnfrei distributed points and unintentionally creates everything goes, will be surprised and will the difficulty be called outrageous. Who has understood the system, and so difficult is not that rather feel the Claims as mediocre. But here's the problem of Black Guards. With a well thought out tutorial that shows how the DSA system is working, the entry would be seen more easily. With all the criticism about not meet the enemy, and the extreme difficulty is to assume that the system just wurde.Und not understand quite so trivial, it is now also again not.
Also the lack of ads of litters in the combat log does not make things more understandable. This log is displayed only greatly simplifies what is just so happens that, however inadequate and helps further here hardly. But I also believe that Deadelic not entirely relies on the dice, and here "artificial" influences hit and hit points. That would explain plausibly why these casts are not displayed.
But that is also not care because the system works well and decide the character development, the equipment and tactics between winning and losing at the end.
The equipment in the game could be a bit more varied, that would have done it all. Armor, weapons deals, potions, etc. are offered here reasonably boring and pragmatic.
Nevertheless, my game was fun right in around 60 hours, and I can recommend the tactics each player, a classic fantasy story and cosiness are more important than 5 clicks per second and "triple-A action-Gekloppe".
