Now is the Alcatel One Touch 6010D (or Star) smartphone available that meets my main expectations: modern Android system, dual SIM operation and compact dimensions. Built is a dual-core processor running at 1GHz. Although it has only 512 MB of RAM but it is an AMOLED display. For the low price, good facilities, I think.
I own it for about 5 days and am very happy with the purchase!
It is really pleasant compact for a smartphone. The 4 "display fills the front well. The three control buttons on the front page below are deducted from the screen or available in hardware. (So unlike the 997D, where these are implemented in software and thus occupy a portion of the display area.) The switch-on button (on the housing side up) and the rocker switch for volume control (on the housing side left), protrude only slightly out of the housing, thereby for operating errors are unlikely, although cumbersome to use but. The body frame is made of metal.
A disadvantage of the device is the really cheap realized back panel, consisting just of thin plastic and is clipped to the housing. It is hard to remove and the entire construction makes no durable impression. Who often have to open the housing for SIM or micro SD card is inserted, themselves should look better in more detail before buying. Inside the housing (see picture adjusted) facilitate the removal of the ejection mechanisms needed for the device Micro-SIMs, for the micro SD slot is missing such a mechanism.
The AMOLED screen is colorful and easy to read from any angle. The resolution of 800x480 can not compete with top models, perhaps, but is adequate for the price. The response to keystrokes could be my previous impression by slightly better, but is ok. Unfortunately, affixed by the manufacturer display film can not be used because it is printed.
When used on the smartphone with the screen side down, it is muted. I have not tested this feature. I think it is worth mentioning that the manufacturer has thought to make the edge of the display slightly raised, so that the display does not come directly into contact with dirt or dust, if you flipped the phone laying on the table.
Call quality I find okay. The dual SIM functionality as already very well implemented the 997D. One can themselves decide which card is to be used by default for calls or SMS or if you want to be asked each time asked for. Instance. Moreover, you can assign each contact a specific SIM. In video calls and data connections, you must define one of the two inserted SIM cards, however. (You can disable all data connections of course.) Both SIM slots are suitable for operation in 3G networks. In the German short-guide is that SIM1 is operated solely with 3G when two SIMs are inserted, but this has turned out to be wrong in my tests. (Maybe a translation error by some other 2G / 3G limitation?)
With the performance I am very satisfied by the way. It scrolls pleasant butterweich through large web pages and navigate without delays through the smartphone. WLAN, Wi-Fi hotspot and GPS function properly. With intensive use, however, one notices a significant heating of the device.
On the device Android 4.1 Jelly Bean runs. A first update there was immediately after commissioning Download to what has worked flawlessly.
The pre-installed e-mail client has a bug apparently. In any case, I have not yet managed to send an email from your phone via SMTP, if the e-mail user name is not in the format [email protected] is.
There are several pre-installed apps: The usual stuff Google, Facebook, Office Suite, Adobe Reader, Two Games, weather forecast, Viber, etc .. Some of these apps have regarding data protection (eg Viber.) A bad reputation.. Uninstall or disable but until now always works. "Temple Run 2" I myself have installed and briefly alluded to: it runs smoothly. However, "Voxel Invaders" crashes right after the start.
The quality of photos taken with the integrated camera could be a bit better for my taste after the first tests to be (more detailed, better colors). I have not yet engaged a lot with the camera, and you can probably get out through settings or other camera app something.
With the battery life I am happy because it is sufficient for reasonably economical use with me for two days. This of course is a subjective value, since everyone uses his smartphone differently.
The SAR values are manual says 0.461 W / kg (head) or 0.637 W / kg (body). The extent to which these values have validity, everyone should decide for himself.
Conclusion:
Laying Overall a very good smartphone for people who are not hardcore Android users, but emphasis on the dual SIM functionality and compact dimensions. I am very happy with the phone, so from me 5 stars!
Supplement 02.05.2013:
Since I have used the last 6010D intensive, because you can hardly fingers on it :) I would like to add that the battery life really only enough one day. Nevertheless still a clear recommendation from me!
Supplement 17.05.2013:
After several tests, I can safely say that 3G can be selectively activated for one of the two SIMs when two SIMs are inserted.
With the camera I am now completely satisfied. I have found that for exteriors, the program "Landscape" is well suited, since then the images are less compressed and retained more details.
