Basically, both the Y300 and the G510 is a good to very good value for money on (so 5 stars for both devices). Which one decides ultimately depends because of the many parallels between the devices ultimately from the personal priorities from. The Y300 is compared to the G510 points especially with the term, because it has a larger 200 mAh battery. An additional difficulty for the G510, it has a larger 0.5-inch display with a correspondingly higher consumption. In practice, it makes my experience noticeable (professional testers confirm this).
The better (not only because of its size) display, however, has the G510. It is significantly lighter and less viewing angle dependent than that of the Y300. In practice, this has not particularly strong impact on me, saying: The display of Y300 hands me personally from perfect, it is not bad at all. The screen of the G510 acts in direct comparison, however brilliant.
In the process, I tend to give the cheaper smartphone preference. Although the G510 acts valent at first glance, not least because of its higher by about 20g weight. However, it has a lack obviously frequent: When something firmer pressure on the battery cover, it creaks, on a relatively wide area. This occurs at Y300, however, virtually no on in my Expemplar I can not notice any significant noise when pressure is applied.
A fundamental question of the look and feel, it is natural to which display size one tends. My opinion: 0.5 inches more or less diagonal make visually more noticeable, as one might expect - after all, the difference "only" around 12 percent. The same is true, however, for the operation to which the extra half inch also affects. Basically, in my view: If not too small hands / fingers can succeed even with 4.5 inch devices like the G510 one-handed operation. For me, however, did not reveal the more natural hand position and smoother motion sequences at the 4 inch device (Y300).
From the inner technique, the two models are very similar, probably almost identical. Except for the slightly higher clocked processor my knowledge there are virtually no differences. As a result, both models, at least in my experience, about the same speed.
CONCLUSION: I personally have chosen particularly because of the more favorable for me haptic properties and the powerful batteries for the Y300. Lovers of large displays with sufficiently large hands and fingers are more likely to pick up the G510 and a lower duration (and possible creaking noises) accept. Technically, enter the device except for the slightly better when G510 display almost anything. Currently, you pay about 12 percent larger display of the G510 with a price premium of around 30 percent (plus / minus). That's not a very favorable ratio in my eyes.
