After more than three years of waiting appeared in December 1984 the 5.Studioalbum "Agent Provocateur". Following the realignment of the band and the international breakthrough was expected, as always, an increase! The concept idea for "Agent Provocateur" arose during the stay Mick Jones in France. For a quarter, he moved with his wife to Paris ... Here then was the basic idea for the hit "I Want To Know What Love Is" ;-). The album was produced by Alex Sadkin and Mick Jones. In the studio reinforced one back with very good session musicians such as Tom Bailey, Wally Badarou, Jack Waldman, Brian Eddolls, Dave Le Bolt and the "4" known Bob Mayo, Larry Fast, and of course Ian Lloyd. "Tooth And Nail" opened the first concept - album Foreigner's! Never before or after there has been a tougher opener of a Foreigner - album! Dry guitar - riffs, synthesizer targeted - Licks in combination with a powerful driving beat and a Lou Gramm in top form! Foreigner redefine itself. With "That Was Yesterday" follows a synthesizer-heavy rock song with very nice harmony turns. Clearly, here you squinted at chart entry! The following schmachtvollen "I Want To Know What Love Is" be Foreigner put a monument. The "All You Need Is Love" Foreigner's ;-) first time managed to a ballad in Gospel form! For this, a music - video represents the people of different skin colors united. A larger and more valuable gesture there has never been so far! Goosebumps! Here may and can shine a Lou Gramm and his multi-faceted voice and singing - enter competition with the New Jersey Mass Choir ;-) After the album picks up speed again. "Growing Up The Hard Way" with the very nice "syncope - work" Dennis Elliott's (drums) and the thin Synthesizer - melody leads the opened style development "Foreigner 4" continued. Melodic and still cold acting on the song structure is derived on the ensuing brutal "Reaction To Action". Huge and aggressive than the indestructible "Juke Box Hero"! "Stranger In My Own House" is so cumbersome that it again a bridge to the 77iger debut but suggests a more aggressive Lou Gramm. Breathtaking solo vocal - entry! With "A Love In Vain" is followed by a brisk gegradliniger Rocker! Synthesizer melodies, an ingenious crisp guitar - solo and a pleading Lou Gramm. My personal tip ;-) "Down On Love" is then the second pop - charts - shame scraps ;-) Unfortunately the title grabs not quite to. He has more than pass the job on the plaintive "Two Different Worlds". Unfortunately, the only Lou Gramm composition! Here Lou Gramm is working all moods from vocally. Just Great! The album then concludes with the lively gospel-like rocker "She's Tough To". Crisp, concise rock Foreigner coming to an end. Here may ran once more Donnie Harper and the New Jersey Mass Choir. Conclusion: The remastered CD - version comes expresses punchy therefore. Very successful implementation. The album leads to the "Foreigner 4" chosen path with a lot of passion on. It is also clear that the album is in the shadow of the trimmed with "vengeance" on success "I Want To Know What Love Is". Atlantic Records changed so Foreigner an incredibly popular and well-hated "cash cow"! The thrifty Next DEVELOPMENT the band is definitely more authentic than many better-known musical upheaval World - Band's ... ;-)
