We Were Exploding Anyway (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Often words smoke and mirrors, which of course also always encounters increasingly intricate Genreisierungen.
The Kategegorisierung "Post Rock", the band from Sheffield / UK could never make friends, quite the opposite and so they do not hold with their opinion about this genre and a lot of bands today hinter'm mountain.

Since it is hardly surprising that 65daysofstatic on "We Were Exploding Anywhere" further distancing and almost bring even a flawless dance album at the start. Offbeat drums, samples and synths were may have made to the trademark of the band, but they were never used such excessive as here.
This is certainly not for everyone, and yet the guys deliver from a round fourth album, which aims clearly than ever on the dance floor, where you - as compared to the previous albums, which only a short time later häckselten such impressions - from start to finish a title can really stay.

On "We Were Exploding Anyway" it goes accordingly a total playing time of 57 minutes, only forward. Whether by "Mountain Head" is almost hypnotic or started to provide the listeners with "Crash Tactics", "Weak4" or "Go Complex" an electronic board at a time - you can this fireworks escape difficult.
At least in the more relaxed approach spherical antipoles form "Come To Me" and "Debutante", moreover, the only two real "songs", where vocals are heard. In "Come To Me" delivers the Robert Smith (The Cure), which already had as support 65DOS in the program and probably occurs in consideration here. Whether he can give something to the number, which nobody would have others succeeded, I doubt now even know what the track but not to devalue.

Even if you meant it to the final 10-minute film "Tiger Girl" a little too monotonous with the intro, the song compensated with a great midsection and a heartbreaking finale.
When the band now wants to disfigure that the album is pumping dull and monotonous by the boxes, you could do so with ease. On the other hand, they also manage to combine the trademarks and to bring to a new level.
Kudos, 65daysofstatic, so looks consistent development and you're here so straight and uncompromising that it seems no matter that one or the other fan come off disappointed ... it explodes anyway.
