Cowboy up!

Since 2005 I have been owners of the Xbox 360 and before that I've played with the first generation Xbox and there were many, many good games there. It's amazing how the games market has developed in recent years. Unfortunately, there was precious little games with a "classical" Western atmosphere. This game showed me that it was right and good and to bring the "unused" Setting Console. I believe there was not a game that I've played so often like this one.

The pitch-black humor. Notice the entire bizarre figures like the Ghoul Seth or the drunken Irish. Lots of crazy characters ensure orderly fun on setting.
The struggles of a noble Westerns worthy in the best Sam Peckinpah style. When the fighting was felt in places as in the battle at the end with "The Wild Bunch".
The atmosphere along with music and environment could never have turn out beautiful. For purposes of music in the sunset ride, you are there but childhood memories.
The story is very similar to the spaghetti westerns, cynicism in a cold world. Who films like "Django" or "The Great Silence" knows will understand what I mean. The tragedy of the story erweisst for me but as a strength in this game. It stands out perfectly on the "everything is good world" of the early Western US, which have the facts simply too much romanticized in the Wild West. Here you still get the feeling of width and of freedom and a strong (spaghetti western) Story.

After the main game still came "Undead Nightmare", which I faced especially skeptical. Because the Western as a film a bit "broke" is trying to revive the genre lately with mix again and the horror was one of the last parts which have been added. Now in hindsight I found quite amusing, the add-on with about 30% of play time from the main title. The figures even crazier than the first part and the story still "Breakthrough". Among other things, with the nuns Battle of the Alamo (replay). The whole acts as twisted, which makes it fun again.

Since I have imported the US version, nor comments. The US version is identical to the English version. Likewise, the German subtitles as in the German original. These two disc "main game" and "add-on with multiplayer". There is also a printed card as in the first edition of the game world.

So if there is a game of the last decade, which is the no. 1, then Red Dead Redemption. The game would have received 11 Oscars from me if I could give them. I look forward to continuing and at the comercial success of the Games is likely these also come.
