After a friendly (financial) Odyssey I am now landed at Mad Catz for a test of the current software again ... and omg, the mouse is set up makes sense. Yes 97, - Euro are not little. However one gets the best mouse design and well thought-out concept.
To be occupied key (probably the reason why we are here):
As there would be - once explained in full bandwidth, I hope this saves a lot of customers pondering where and how and what keys you can use yourself:
2x The "Action-Lock" key (on the base of the left / right keys) These are freely assignable. They can also leave blank and the main keys locked temporarily with them.
5x click switch buttons left side, clearly separated. Transfer with a haptic Alloy feeling solidity.
5-way joystick laterally = 5 buttons, the micro-Stick working ultimately as a directional pad when gamepad. 4 = 4 directions possible assignments by pressing the Sticke as 5th button.
Side thumbwheel - 2 directions. I do not use it, but it is theoretically also assignable. It is not overly well placed, but that's probably a question of the respective hand ergonomics.
Suma sumarum: 12 Free buttons + 3 core keys +2 thumbwheel. And it should be noted, compared to the 12 Tatsten the Logitech or the Corsair, the body already knows here solely by the handle angle clearly what it clicks and where he hinklickt. Instinctive triggering pure.
More but unbelegbare buttons serve mouse control: Mode button for 3 different Belegungsmodi and a shift key (outside front right), the switch further allows 3 modes. I have no way discovered these buttons to show, but who wants to change his mouse occupancy concept middle of a game between a couple of variants is right here. Personally, I usually only Switch between a desktop assignment and game configurations back and forth
I would note that the majority of mouse vendors to drive these buttons friendly "counting" to the seemingly available buttons on an MMO mouse up. In this case: no. I feel for once NOT .. well, advertising side ripped off!
Other key features:
The Mad Catz 7 (MMO) manages four definable motion profiles (between 25dpi and 6400dpi switchable), which are if you want to split the separately between horizontal and vertical movement, nice.
The mouse wheel, smooth, with very slight Einrastern, very good ribbing that is easily and accurately use. A click of the "third" mouse button (wheel) adjusts not the setting of the wheel (eg what happened to me even too easy at anchor and Corsair).
The mouse is "Mad-Catz-typical" form excessively configurable. There are provided 3 side parts (including a tray with the little finger) and three interchangeable end pieces / hand rests. This hand rest can be like Mad Catz mice customary freely positioned on a rail, and the mouse hand Resize (longer - shorter + pad type). For this purpose, the left-side key group can be displaced by a screw thread along the mouse body. The mouse is actually larger (palm rest) and shifts to request the keys to the best point.
The only nichtmodifizierbare factor is the usual flat design.
The mouse cable is sheathed in fabric. The mouse weight can be adjusted, but what I feel at a MMORPG mouse rather than unnecessarily
Drivers and software must be downloaded from the net and (problem-free) are installed, the software is now functional fully mature.
In conclusion: For me, the best (if not cheap) MMORPG mouse on the market. In terms of robustness, software (!) And structure well with the best you can currently (2014) acquire a MMO RPG variant.
