And this attempt is successful everything almost perfect in everything.
Catch me at times with the only point of criticism: The autonomy is TA gone a bit lost, because quite so flagrantly and Jamm Session Resembling like the two wheels in front is "The Whirlwind" is not. Everything is much more to the point and played a total similar to the CD more to Neal Morse solo works as the band of the other members (Stolt of the Flower Kings, Portnoy of DT and Trewavas of Marillion). Nor do I feel the songs as A Long Track, because the pieces are stylistically but partly strongly delineated. A straight hard rockers like "Lay down your life" could be found on the CD's in front, for example, hardly.
But what Transatlantic deliver under these conditions, is again all first grade and is in my opinion both Neal Morse solo as well as the newer Spock's Beard clearly in the shadows. To describe Individual Parts closer would mean the scope of a novel, which is why two of my highlights on "Whirlwind":
"Rose Colored Glasses": Here come the purely technical playing skills of men something in favor of the song in the background. The melody is just so fantastically beautiful that one can hardly put it into words, and pulls the listener in both the Chorus (brilliant backround vocals) and in the furious guitar solo completely under its spell.
"Is it really happening": That is rather the song, in which the musicians must show that they play technically now no other band can hold a candle. The song begins harmless to boring, which is not negative to understand in this case, in order to then culminate in a finale that one really can be open only his mouth. With so much musical virtuosity even Portnoy's main band Dream Theater has to dress warmly as yet to oppose something.
Conclusion:
Who Neal Morse and Spock's Beard and like the progressive rock / metal in general, here gets an absolute Sahnstück of Music presents and can blind access.
And tomorrow, the band can be seen live in Cologne. I am here and am looking forward as Punch.
