The first impression is good. Handy, lightweight, bright display strong, very reactive. Only the App Drawer missing, but that is in all Lenovo Tabs that. You can upgrade to the same KitKat 4.4.2. This I perform just.
UPDATE 18/08/2014
================================================== ======================================
The update to 4.4.2 ran through without any problems. I have the Tablet also set afterwards. The modifications of Lenovo are low. There is something to preinstalled software, you can turn off but if necessary, but do not remove it (at least not without root access). However, a big difference from standard Android is the lack of the App Drawer. This means that all apps can be found on the home screens. This one, however, can sort into folders in order to keep a little order. The tablet runs absolutely smoothly. It is with its 320g ok by weight.
Feel:
The device is made of plastic and dunkelblaum is well made. It creaks nothing and the transitions smooth and acts dibasic. It has 3 physical buttons, the on / off switch and the volume + / volume rocker. Furthermore, one still has a 3.5 mm jack plug with 3 way function (I do not have tried headset) and a USB 2.0 port. Behind a cover is still the micro SD slot and SIM card slot (SIM Normal Size)
Hardware:
The Mediatek MT8382 Processor has enough reserves for typical office tasks. The integrated Mali-400 GPU MP2 enough to play on the 7 "tablet also 3D games. It jerky nothing. Antutu benchmark results with me 17186 points.
Software:
It runs Android 4.2.2 factory. It can be equal to update to 4.4.2. This Android version was adapted by Lenovo something. As already mentioned, there is no App Drawer and we find all the apps on the home screen. These can be grouped into folders in order to obtain a better overview. There is the classic 3 Softbuttons Back, Home, Task Manager for navigation. What I know, there are as yet no root and no possibility Custom Roms. The Tab has been published but only in April 2014. For me, it also would not be necessary, since the Tab also works so flawlessly.
Connections:
The WiFi works right away at a good speed in the mode 802.11 b, g, n.
The 3G connection also provided good speeds in the download, since the Tab HSDPA +. Furthermore, it can Bluetooth 4.0.
Practically, the wifi Teethering.
The GPS signal even had indoor relatively quickly a fairly useful Sattelitenfix. This means my position was indoor determined in about 30 seconds, but with aGPS. I tested the GPS with the app status. It will be probably also applies well for Navi.
There is a Navigation App Lenovo plan, which I have not tested.
Battery:
Installed is a non-replaceable 3450 mAh Li-Io battery. Since I do not play with the tablet and the WLan deactivate when I do not need the tab, I get very long (several days) by using the tab. I use it mainly for surfing and e-mails to retrieve.
Sound:
Although obviously 2 speakers should be installed, only one of them (the bottom) plays sound. It is loud enough for video, even outdoors. The 2nd speaker is I think for the phone on the A7-50 Lenovo A3500-HV.
Conclusion:
I have bought the tab at a lightning deal on Amazon for 129 and am very happy with it. I have an Asus Memo Pad 8 and Note 10.1. For me, this tab is ideal for traveling because it is small and light and a UMTS module. I had also previously tried favorable (below 100) Tablets, which I was very disappointed. Here you can get a really good product for the money.
