1. Stupid Girls
The opener is probably the catchiest, poppigste (and shortest) Song settles on the album where nk P! Not quite so serious about all "Stupid Girls".
2. Who Knew
The song on the album, which reminds me most of the "Try This" time. It is a bit more rock and serious. That the text remains challenging, you do not make extra stress.
3. LONG WAY TO HAPPY
Somehow ballad-like, but actually a pretty mid-tempo track with elements of Elektropops in the verses and choruses in the will's rockier.
4. Nobody Knows
A stunning, soulful ballad, nk's voice volume is in the P! Perfectly. Sang soulful, beautiful climax ... a completely great song!
5. DEAR MR. PRESIDENT (FT. Indigo Girls)
When I heard this song for the first time, I got goose bumps. P! Nk, and the Indigo Girls really are limited in this country-moderate Song to the bare essentials - P! Nk sings in a sad, but more confident mood, while being accompanied by guitars. But here I must particularly commend the text in which no better could have been. Even President Bush should be able to understand this message:
"How can you say 'no child is left behind'? We're not dumb, and we're not blind. [...] What kind of father would take this own daughter's rights away and what kind of father might hate his own daughter if she were gay? [...] How do you sleep while the rest of us cry, how do you dream When a mother has no chance to say goodbye? How do you walk with your head held high? Can you even look me in the eyes? "
6. I'm Not Dead
The title track begins with a rousing, again rockigerem Intro. A slightly faster song, with a melody remains hanging long in the memory. One of the album highlights!
7. 'CUZ I CAN
The highlights it gets even more equal. "'Cuz I Can" is by far the most confident track of the album, which was rather kept electronically. A real catchy tune, in my opinion, high single potential has! ("I know I'm rare, you stop and stare You think I care -. I do not [...] I could fit your whole house in my swimming pool..")
8. Leave Me Alone (I'm Lonely)
The poppigste song on the album, with merry-quietschiger melody that can affect all somewhat ironic. But even here loses text not much depth.
9. U + Ur Hand
"It's pretty much about masturbation," said P! Nk in the shooting of the video for "U + Ur Hand". It was a long time unclear whether this fast track rocking or "Stupid Girls" is the first single. The song seems to me like a mix of the best of "'Cuz I Can" and "Leave Me Alone (I'm Lonely)", however, is still a very individual song. ("Keep your drink, just gimme the money - it's just u + ur hand tonight.")
10. RUNAWAY
After the 3 fastest, fanciest tracks the album the pace a track is low again. "Runaway" is embellished with catchy rock elements, with slightly childlike pubertal text.
11. THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY
As in "Dear Mr. President" is P! Nk also accompanied in "The One That Got Away" only by guitars. The whole song sounds like a cozy jam session in an American country club.
12. I GOT MONEY NOW
A very quiet, relaxed song for which I am not always in the mood. Nevertheless, a beautiful track that should not be missed on the album.
13. CONVERSATIONS WITH MY 13 YEAR OLD SELF
P! Nk is talking with her, I 13 years, trying to calm this and convince him that it would be all right. The orchestral accompaniment makes the ballad to a rousing, strength and soulful end of the album.
14 FINGERS (BONUS TRACK)
So not to end the album is not so at this point. Two songs are left - to just heard also "finger", the most electronic P! Nk song for "Feel Good Time". "Fingers" makes a good mood, brings a party mood and the text "amusing" ("When it's late at night and you're also quite fast asleep, I let my fingers do the walking. I press record, I become a fiend , and no one else is watching. I let my fingers do the walking. ").
15. I HAVE SEEN THE RAIN (FT. JAMES T. MOORE)
The truly last song of the album is not found in the tracklist on the cover. P! Nk explains at the start about 50 seconds that "I Have Seen The Rain" was written by her father James T. Moore 40 years ago in the Vietnam War Since her childhood, she sings this song together with him -. And finally they have it also added: P! nk, her father and an acoustic guitar Very soulful, quiet, sad but beautiful song!..
ON DVD:
The content of the DVD is now not just as extensive, but still quite entertaining! One can listen to all the songs in one hand, surround, and choose between a couple of videos. So is on the DVD as the making of the "Stupid Girls" video (I think about 18 minutes), the video itself, outtakes from the video, an interview on the entire album, as well as a trailer for "P! nk - Live in Europe "DVD.
CONCLUSION:
The album would indeed have to be quiet rockier, but still what nk P! Is with "I'm Not Dead" returns far above the average of other currently current pop albums. Her lyrics are fantastic honest, the songs have catchy melodies and P ! nk's powerful voice also comes across well. It is a pity that the UK bonus track "Centerfold" is missing on the German CD, which is similar to "finger" of electronic and because I have the UK version of the album to my favorite tracks on the album counts.
I can "I'm Not Dead" really only warmly to all fans of P! Nk and pop, and also recommend to all pop-sometimes well-Finder!
