So I had previously tested the JBL batch and was now looking forward to the sequel. The design and size has approached me. The first batch JBL me has especially disturbed at the sound but in my ears to lean bass. The JBL Charge 2 is to certify a powerful bass in numerous reviews and so I was very excited about this speaker.
In fact, I was first impressed the sound of JBL Charge 2. Powerful bass and clear mids and highs perceptible. The maximum volume also liked good. But after some time I realized that I must add my voice to the slightly more negative reviews here.
In particular, the review of Thomas Sauer I find very accurate. In my opinion, the JBL Charge 2 sounds good only at a higher volume, and then only with restrictions. The cabinet is a total set very bassy and it mixes with language as much bass to the fact that it is no longer listening to me. I prefer dance music in many different styles. And I've noticed that it the JBL Charge 2 Jungle Speed and garage with the basses exaggerates. Here "roll over" as it were, the bass and it all sounds very unclean and not somehow beautiful. For example I have in "God is a DJ" by Faithless in the intro also comic cracking and "buzzing" sounds heard that do not belong there.
During quieter listening to music, I noticed that the bass remains ostensibly present, the mids and highs but are no longer present than at a higher volume. Added to this is that the bass somehow lacks momentum. Everything sounds kinda flat and not very exciting or thrilling. Unfortunately.
Conclusion: For listening to loud music with limitations recommended.
I have the JBL Charge 2 sent back because I feel the limited usefulness for the price too bad. But I must honestly say that I miss the sound of JBL Charge 2 at loud listening with some songs. Should the price fall further, I'm going to order me the box again.
