Definitive masterpiece

Before Marvin Gaye in 1971 out brought this perfect soul album, it was more than the Womanizer par excellence known (as he indeed on the also perfect follow-up work "Let's Get It On"), but after some long conversations with Motown boss Berry Gordy he was allowed to publish this socially critical masterpiece. The intelligent lyrics, Marvin unique-soulful, yet vulnerable voice-acting and the multi-layered, orchestral setting up various instruments make up the class of this CD. De unique melodies and everything was just right. It is clear in addition to "Let's Get It On" his best work and for me next to Stevie Wonder's "Songs in the Key of Life" the best R & B / soul album ever.
