In my opinion, after the somewhat sagging volumes five and six with the last band again recorded a significant increase. The plot is streamlined, the braid of storylines and unravels the story is finally out after more than a decade to end.
On the quality of the first four volumes, the book can not match. This however is fantasy epics in the nature of things. Finally just remains little room for nuances, everyday descriptions and details, the big guns have to be deployed to bring the story to a worthy and final clash. The book gives off a little overloaded, the dominions of Warner Bros. are in the film version, which will come in a few years certainly have their hands full again, to bring the huge template worthy to the canvas.
This criticism makes the other hand also a strength of the book and the Harry Potter books out at all. Although the volume of books has tended to become more prevalent, there remains the fact that the text is very action-rich, almost compressed. The events come thick and fast, the reader is kept at the bar and on each side, a new surprise waiting.
The allusions to fascist regime (or "The Third Reich", as some critics write something-effects one) I would not recognize as a point of criticism. These elements serve to Emphatisierung the urgency of the situation and are in connection with the action quite fitting.
As it so to speak about war here, it is obvious that numerous characters bless the temporal. Often the death of the characters seems to me but a little unmotivated, which could be justified by the senselessness of dying in battle, of course, but I found the deaths very scarce described partly rather disturbing.
A successful idea is that towards the end are not the rather average magical powers of the sorcerer's apprentice of central importance, but his integrity and his sacrifice will. All in all, it is also in this band again fairly morally (which would appear even more irrational criticism of religious circles to the Harry Potter books). Values such as friendship, altruism and loyalty be kept high.
Overall, I think the last band for managed a worthy conclusion to the Harry Potter series. An absolute genius in the end he is not know what to do but the reading pleasure of millions of young and older readers hardly a crash.
I found it exciting to be able to experience one of the greatest literary phenomena of all time.
