But now to the game itself:
Personally, I have not played the first part, which is not a prerequisite. I had my say though that connoisseurs of the first part should definitely come on their costs, which of course I can not comment now.
Technology:
Technically, it was in this game, also no problems with my system configuration, as far as I can remember the game at ~ 30 hours of play time is 1 times greased. Also graphics errors or similar annoyances as stuttering or slow load times were spared me what pleasantly surprised me.
The graphics themselves what I call getting used to, particularly because of the depth of field, which is sometimes quite nice, if you like battling his way through the area. In interview sequences of these annoying blur effect quite formidable, as it seldom happens that both call parties are displayed sharply.
But it is possible to conclude by saying that the game, despite its small setting options which AA or textures filter terms looks good and also the animations do not look hampelig or ridiculous.
The setting I find it very successful, so the speakers are in the German version in my opinion very well and give little reason to complain. The music was to me personally too sterile and suitable only in certain situations.
The operation is simple and quick to learn, as well as adaptable. Only the riding, which has often been criticized here is a real torment. :)
The Game:
At the beginning of the game I was doing me a bit heavy, I would say so about the first 2 hours in which I myself first in many things "reinwurschteln" had. But this has been first placed behind him to a lot of opportunities to make his character open: From the sword-wielding muscleman about Archer, Elementalist up to the Necromancer. There's really something for everyone. In addition, you can according to your mood, at least at the beginning of the game, to remodel the appearance of his personal heroes.
By the way, a certain depth is by talents such as lockpicking, forging or alchemy offered and the "crafting" there only in alchemy, with which one the different ingredients then even allowed to throw into the pot to see something then there comes out. Because the forging talent merely serves to upgrade items, thus increasing its Rüstwert or damage as well as the maximum number of insertable crystals.
What I really liked was the ability to compile its own magic, and to design what a lot of fun on one side and a high diversity on the other side brings.
The tactical depth of the fighting often proves the fact that certain opponents always against certain types of damage (slashing / piercing weapons, fire, ice, ....) are resistant and can therefore either swinging away forever on it or sometimes just switch to the other spell , That brings every now and then a little momentum, especially if a group of enemies of multiresistant enemies there. However, one should it also not expect too much, because the enemy variety is rather limited and is the resistance of certain opponents eventually heart knows what causes when one sees the wild boar on the horizon ever unpacks the hammer and lets put the sword.
However, it is unfortunately also the case that these struggles can quickly into dauergeklicke degenerate depending on the difficulty. The system also has the problem that the fighting, especially in close combat with larger groups of enemies can become hard, which is caused mainly by the "action camera".
For quick weapon or equipment change also 3 sets to be run quickly through also offered during a fight. Comfortable, convenient and even necessary.
However, you have to say to the equipment that it is upgradeable, but very rarely by unique craft talents and crystals. That I did not like personally, as always, if you see his equipment, the feeling has to be just another city guard. One often runs "only" a mercenary armor that gives it the merchants in 3 different color versions, which also have specific priorities: I mean, a color is good against stabbing weapons, the other against blunt weapons, and the third is balanced. At least that was my impression. So does this relate then in accordance with the weapons, except for the different variants. Nearly every weapon that you use, or that is strong can also be found at every casual opponents.
I am a huge treasure hunters in those games and was very disappointed when I always like a 0815-buffoon appeared to me because there were hardly any special or unique equipment, which over several levels of time is sometimes comparable or sometimes looks extremely stylish. In addition to this, there are also hardly any equipment parts that give innately certain bonuses. Example rings: It's a damn if I'm wearing a ring from the first or last dealer I meet in the game as long as the same number of slots have crystal. For rings, bringing the general +10 strength or talent bonuses, there are only extremely rarely, as far as I've found that just from the main quests.
This is such a big gripe for me, because this very thing for those games in addition to the character development, which is really excellent succeeded so has an important role to the players to stick to it and I was always waiting for my great reward, and I have so unfortunately never get seen.
The Story & quests:
The story I was now not so incredibly exciting, as it was already announced many a forum, but it has managed to stick to the bar and has, and so much must be said, also the one or other surprise in store.
The little side quests are mostly designed interesting and fun, which is often not due to the nature of implementation but on the backstory of each quests tell what this. In addition, many Quests provide two approaches ("good" / "bad"). Said I can Plump the stable boy who stole a horse simply hew to Klump or help him with his beloved maid to escape, so according to the principle, but not so clichéd, as I have described here. However, these decisions have rarely a major impact on the subsequent game.
The game has in his quests always a certain sense of humor that was actually pretty good hit always with me. In other words: I had in ~ 30 hours often reason to grin.
