The game also has quite a few strengths such. B .:
- Many (upgradeable) weapons, many objects
- Many possibilities for action, great freedom of action
- Schleich interesting missions and good action sequences
- In itself a very chic graphics
Over time, however, revealed the weaknesses of the game, which quickly lead to my opinion significant drop in the voltage curve:
- The first still pretty "high-gloss surface" is deceptive: In the course of the Settings resemble far too much and somehow sees the whole island "equal" from. Everywhere around stopped vehicles, always the same outpost and strongly resembling the building without residents to give the impression that here relatively little time was used for giving the island a real "character". At the end everything looks very carelessly - as a map editor cobbled together.
- The story is relatively weak (-> 0815) and to the displaced persons, the player can actually no real reference build, since they are much too shallow designed. Vaas and Sam stand here a little out, but are too rarely part of the game. What sense it makes, in addition to Vaas still install a third villain, I remained hidden.
- There is no time to real survival atmosphere. Should it, however, eventually you will find yourself on an island that is full of armed mercenaries, pirates and predators. Instead, it acts like a "GTA in the Pacific". It just does not feel real. Tip: Play Resident Evil Remake, then you know what atmosphere is in a PC game.
- It is spent too much time with "the course from A to B", happened something worth talking about without. There are outside the story missions no scripted scenes and the fights between allies and outposts run by chance from. Sometimes one has the impression that the developers just wanted to artificially prolong the game time.
- You play only the main missions, you are in about 8-10 hours. All the side missions are, in my view somewhat entertaining and conceal basically just a way too short main game. In addition, they are always the same structure.
- The balance is rather poor. One finds far too many boxes and items, after a short time burst the inventory at the seams. Also annoying the constant duration of healing. Why do you build nowadays no longer a health packs instead of this stupid Auto Heal system? In the middle of difficulty, the game is absolutely doable. Nevertheless, one must sometimes play 10 times some (Eskotier-) mission to the NC finally survived once
Conclusion:
I compare FarCry 3, for example. With the current Half-Life remake Black Mesa, the story seems almost ridiculous and the atmosphere very implausible. Gameplay Technically the game is okay, but can never give rise to a real survival feeling á la Half-Life. All the side missions are useless since they have not lost my mind in this kind of game. I want an island-Survival Game and not capped GTA.
On the whole the game is indeed fine, but is certainly not one of the games that will be played in 10 years (see. Above).
FarCry 4 I will not do that to me, because it's probably the same game with a different setting.
