Many fans will be pleased because finally the London Symphony Orchestra is back again and recalls the days with Williams ... Hence the score has a much wider sound than the soundtracks of Hooper, I, in contrast to most, However, in high esteem.
For this purpose, it is nice to see that the items are in chronological order and have a total playing time of 73 minutes. I will indeed necessarily have the limited edition, but on this CD the most important and best pieces are apparently plan.
Unlike its predecessors, does not begin his Desplat Soundtrack by Harry topic (as already mentioned, the only piece of music that is from the beginning). Although sounds this theme in the film short, but the first minute is missing from the opening track "Obliviate" ... But that's not bad, but the track is impressive with a wonderful dramatic, tragic introduction that accompanied the first scene of the movie, goosebumps !
This piece also initiates the new main theme that I simply times the "Friendship Thread" call, because there will always be played when it comes to Harry, Ron and Hermione.
Immediately afterwards heard the glorious and evil "Snape To Malfoy Manor." Here we hear the new theme for Voldemort or the Death Eaters. One of the highlights of "Obliviate" on the CD ...
"Polyjuice Potion" is a dynamic and witty title, where for the first time heard the Harry theme. In addition, the subject of the Order of the Phoenix is heard, of course, a new motif of Desplat.
"Sky Battle" is for many the highlight of the scores, because he stands out the most. No wonder, since it is the most rapid title because the action in this film very nearly fails ...
In any event, "Sky Battle" really brutal and enthralling and used the great issues for the Death Eaters and the Order of the Phoenix in a huge variation.
"At The Burrow" is again very softly and varies the "Order" - theme.
"Harry & Ginny" goes with this design directly further and in a lonely piano version, very nice.
"The Will" is a very nice and quiet variation of the theme of friendship "Obliviate" and again a return of Harry thread, but only very briefly and the last time in this score.
"Death Eaters" continues this subject, and then switches to the dramatic music of the Death Eaters.
With "Dobby" Desplat again shows us a new theme, and indeed for the little house elf. Again, he did not take over the old motif of Williams from "The Chamber of Secrets", but again created his own material. Only the piece starts very easily, but is always swinging towards the end. Here you can tell very well how Desplat has composed his subjects not forcefully, but rather subtly and effectively, but that's what I like and fits well to the movie!
With "Ministry Of Magic" shows us Desplat his talent to create the perfect mood for a scene: On the one hand the image of hundreds of people strolling through the halls and on the other hand the danger lurking all the time when Harry, Ron and Hermione search for Umbridge. Speaking of which, I would very much like Umbridge's theme heard again, but of course Desplat has also not taken this ... Still, it's great to hear how Desplat for many smaller scenes creates own tunes, even if they stand out not much.
Also "detonator" is a very nice and tactful piece and again a nice theme for this scene that also again perfectly captures the atmosphere in the film!
"The Locket" is the next big issue, and indeed the general or for the Medallion for the Horcruxes, you might say. Very scary and menacing sounds this music.
With "Fireplaces Escape" it will be again racy when Harry, Ron and Hermione escape from the Death Eaters in the Ministry. Especially the end is very buoyant!
"Ron Leaves" is a tragic piece, because there he finally paints the dispute by Harry and Ron, and as the three leaves. Finally there is an issue for Ron and here it is played in all its glory, a great track! There is again the "Obliviate" - motif in tragic form.
"The Exodus" is a short and eerie piece, which is dominated by a violin.
"Godric's Hollow Graveyard" is again a very tragic piece, but at the thought of the scene in the film, I sometimes have to fight back the tears ...
"Bathilda Bagshot" is very grim and threatening with the pan flute in the background until it is again faster and more exciting then ...
"Hermione's Parents" begins with a lonely flute that the "Obliviate" - theme plays. A wonderful version, the scene when Hermione tells also very cautious but infinitely powerful and melancholic about their parents and their past. The piece then goes into the scene when Harry finds the sword of Gryffindor and dives into the lake. Therefore, the track will end up again very exciting and dramatic, especially through the lonely chorus.
"Destroying The Locket" is one of my absolute favorites! If Ron destroys the Medallion and the vision of Voldemort looks when Harry and Hermione kissing and stamped him as "nothing" brilliant! This driving music is simply heartbreaking and reflects exactly the scene and their tragedy resist. A short but bombastic title!
With "Ron's Speech" sweep the Ron- and "Obliviate" - topic again very nice again, also one of the highlights.
"Lovegood" is an interesting piece with the distinctive melody for Xenophilius Lovegood, dynamic, mystical and playful little. A track, which loosens the somber, emotional mood something ...
"The Deathly Hallows" plays the theme of the Deathly Hallows, which sounds similar to that of the Horcruxes, but still has its own character and it sounds very mysterious and mysterious.
"Captured And Tortured" begins very tense with lots of drum use and retains this gloomy atmosphere.
"Rescuing Hermione" goes for busy and action-packed play the Todessertthema very quiet before the Dobbythema returns and the track ends very enthralling. One hears formally as Bellatrix throws the knife ...
And with "Farewell To Dobby" heard the Dobbythema in a tragic, plaintive version. A touching to tears track!
Finally, the score ends with "The Elder Wand" when Voldemort steals the Elder Wand from Dumbledore. Again very impulsive and epic, to the music breaks off abruptly, just like the movie ...
Phew! So even hear enough in any case to this score. Only after repeated listening to recognize the strength of the music and the variety of topics that do not see most of ...
Desplat has many new and powerful motives, but which really stand out only discreetly. But that's why the score and the movie has such a depressing and a great atmosphere!
Personally, I have to say that the score but acts much better if you know the film, so you can really experience the whole story on the basis of music and put themselves purely in the individual moments.
However, it was clear to me that I had to take to the soundtrack to the beautiful and melancholic song "O Children" by Nick Cave. This is the indescribable, beautiful song, when Harry and Hermione dancing (probably my favorite scene!). The title is for six minutes and you can almost see them dance the two. I love this song, because he, like the score without patch notes works and works solely through the atmosphere. Not for nothing were running at me tears at the scene ...
Alexandre Desplat has delivered much more than an "above average" score: I love this music because it is based very close to film events. Although the soundtrack works alone is not so good, but with the film in mind, I had goose bumps when really each track! Not everyone likes the conversion of music over the years, I am an absolute fan of the Potter music because each score has its own strength. Besides, I also think it's good that Desplat for the second part composed the music, because two composers from a, would have made two films. Williams has indeed a very different style than Desplat, therefore the atmosphere in the second part would have been a completely different, I think ... buy recommendation for a wonderful score!
