Nightmare (Paperback)

Customer Review

"Nightmare" is the first novel by David Goodis translated into French.
It tells the hunt for a man unjustly accused of murder: his escape from prison, the Darling Clementine (cops, the real killer), constantly repeated ...
The writing is simple, the plot is anguish in cold sweats, the end is ambiguous at will.
Often made into movies, the books of David Goodis are of classic thriller. Scenario: After a brilliant career, a guy fell in the débine resumes taste for life with a woman (fatal or translucent) to fall soon ... in the deprivation!
Goodis knows whereof he speaks: he died at 50, forgotten in his own country, depressed and alcoholic.
Among his novels, some masterpieces, "Cassidy's girl", "Friday the 13th", "Shoot the Piano Player".
