Darksiders (uncut) (Video Game)

Customer Review

Darksiders I got myself, when I had played through Dante's Inferno and looking for something similar. An action game with open world setting and mystical or apocalyptic atmosphere. I've found this very game, which was rather cautiously announced in advance and hardly advertised.

I, however, was not disappointed. The story captivates later than the completion of the tutorial (Apocalypse) and offers some twists, even if some of it is predictable.

The characters are all oversubscribed gorgeous and the interaction of all main NPCs offers a unique atmosphere and also carries a very unique sense of humor. By the time Ulthane from "pigeon plucking" raves or war discharges the death duel with an angel smiles the comic and Endzeitfan.

Graphics & Presentation
--------------------
The game is kept quite bloody. Finishing moves in the style of Viking can be found in pretty much every fight and the gloomy environment does the rest to create a thrilling atmosphere.

Sound
-----
The soundscape is a major triumph. Steps sound like steps (not like in FF XIII), of weapons is taken as such is true and also the positioning / locating of opponents or events in the area expires without dropouts - provided a surround system. The music is a bit sparse, but then adjusts consistently good the action.

Battle System
-----------
The combat system is not a surprise for action lovers. Anyone who has played Viking, BrĂ¼tal Legend, Dante's Inferno or on the PS God of War, gets along immediately. While there are combos, but the variations are limited and they are needed not really basically. While you can fight with different weapons, the simplicity and convenience effectiveness you will most of the time, however, take up the sword (Chaos Eater) and at the latest upon attainment of Armageddonklinge there are no really good alternative in terms of primary weapon. The gun is more a gimmick and basically useless. The Sense looks stylish, but brings no significant advantages over the sword. The battles are all not very difficult and never unfair. Claim, however, is not really there (with a few exceptions such as the robotic mini bosses in the tower or several bosses)

Mystery
------
The puzzles seem a bit complicated at first glance, but they are not, if you look around a bit. Basically there is only one solution to a problem and only one way to get there. Most puzzles are used to explain previously introduced tools such as the Abrundkette or the Voidwalker. A combination of these tools is necessary only at the end of the game the black throne. This places but even for beginners is not a real challenge.

Tools of war (it)
-------------------------
War gets in history ("to kindle 4 torches so that the door opens and you A lever B can tilt") more and more tools that are primarily intended to solve simple puzzles. However, it is only possible with these tools to reach all the chests and secrets of the game. Just before the final battle to save and run the world again. In almost every section you will find useful artifacts that you could not reach before - even in the snake holes. The portal gun (Voidwalker) allows War to create portals on select areas and thus to reach places that are inaccessible without this tool. The abyss chain can be used to swing across chasms or fighting Recourse should be smaller opponent. The tremor glove making kindling from blue barriers and the cross blade helps when lighting of torches or at expelling certain monsters.

Conclusion
=====
Darksiders does many things right. The game is exactly what it wants to be: an uncomplicated, yet exciting action game with solid story and neat control. A multiplayer part one looks in vain, however, (which personally, however, is not a negative thing for me). The fights can even cope with newcomers of the genre without any problems and also the puzzles make anyone unsolvable or unfair challenges. Even the boss fights are never unfair or "too heavy" - the tactics you get given quasi the fight of the game. Who exciting entertainment in a delightfully plated end time setting (the angels look as if they were straight out WH40K) searches, will find it here in any case. Tip!
