The 5 concertos were recorded in 1983 live. The sound is quite exceptional.
The game of Alfred Brendel is a jewel as he knows distill such notes ambrosia ...
The CSO led by Levine is in tune, we feel a particular volume on the strings providing a fleshy and silky mid-bass.
Having multiple versions of this major work by Beethoven, it ranks without question in the top 3, where I place such as the version of Pollini with Abbado at DG:
