Vienna Concert (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Among all his solo live concerts was the "Vienna Concert" the best that Jarrett himself said once (while the "hype" about his concert in Cologne are most comfortable with the pulping of all CDs ended world would see!). In addition one can stand as you want, but in terms of the Vienna concert he has in my opinion right. It is among all the excellent and outstanding recordings again a trace of genius and fantastic!
Which metaphor should be chosen to describe the two exquisite, 41 25 minutes long parts of the "Vienna Concert"? A journey through soundscapes of lovely meadows over rugged mountains to beautiful beaches? Or there are emotions that ends with balance of gentleness about heatedness and rage again? Regardless, the two parts are musically offered so outstanding and so exceptionally well structured, that, as with all great works of art, ultimately can only be grateful to be able to enjoy them.
The first part begins very soft and worn and very slowly builds to a powerful strength until at 24'08 employing a change of pace. Now it is wild, expressive and hard, but Jarrett manages to tame this hardness and to end officially at the end. "Part II" at first seems a little unimpressive, but contains the most beautiful passage from 14'07 melodic harmony that is more than ever appeared of Jarrett on CD. This place is amazing and of such unspeakable tenderness that granite is Sammet.
I hear the "Vienna Concert" deliberately rarely, it should preserve its magic for the rest of my life and comfort me in times of deep depression and earth in times of great happiness.
