In the Seagate Expansion 2.5 inches is a small, handy and lightweight and nice to looking external hard drive in the "pocket-sized". I use the Seagate (320 GB) as TV recording storage in connection with my cable box WISI OR 152 with PVR (Personal Video Recorder). The interplay between these two works perfectly: my initial concerns, timer recording may not work because of the slightly delayed onset of readiness of the hard disk (for boot) after turning on the cable receiver have not been realized! So far all of my timer recordings were recorded in time and properly. The read and write speed of this drive is sufficiently dimensioned and HD images are smooth and mastered in perfect quality. After recording and "shutdown" of the cable receiver to the standby state, the hard drive automatically switches to off, only to be "brought to life" in the next upcoming recording without my doing directly by booting the receiver again. A small green indicator light provides information about the current operating status of the hard drive. This light is so discreet held that - unlike so many "lights organ" of other hard drives or memory sticks - glare-free and uninterrupted viewing of TV recordings is possible! Because of the hard drive also no operation noise can be heard, may be even the slightest film passages pursue unclouded and distraction free! Even during prolonged operation of the hard drive heats up only slightly this and thus can be placed anywhere without hesitation.
Conclusion: The Seagate Expansion 2.5 inches - hard drive is by its properties described above suited for use as a PVR recording storage. I am completely satisfied with the quality of these external hard drive and can recommend the purchase in good faith !!
