The Longest Ride (Paperback)

Customer Review

Two stories are told paralell.

Ira, ninety-one years old, has an accident and remembers his life, while his late wife is by his side, keeping him alive.
In the second plotline Luke, the rodeo rider and Sophia, the college student fall in love.

In the beginning, one wonders what the two stories have to do with each other, but the style of Nicholas Sparks's easy and you will be captured by two narrative threads.

Grief, heartache, pain but also the first infatuation that turns into true love are described here beautifully.

The character of Luke is particularly interesting. How far do you go to get rid of his guilt and his guilty conscience?

The end is not a big surprise, but it's also not exciting thriller.
If you read a Nicholas Sparks novel, you know that keeping a beautiful love story in his hands. Sometimes you grinning, in the middle of shedding a few tears to the sympathetic and Charas "Geesthacht" at the end of it to himself.

If you sit on the sofa tea on a rainy afternoon with a cup, this book is the right choice.
