Includes: one CD with user manual and a printed Quick Start Guide ... then this sheet tabs to expand ... nothing else.
As the unit looks, so you can see in the photos ... tastes differ; I especially do not find it now. The build quality is impeccable, the control panel on the left is easy to remove and does not give the impression that something break shortly. Behind this panel, the SD card is inserted.
The installation presents no difficulties; Well, there is a cable that should be connected to the handbrake warning light, so that video can be viewed only with the handbrake applied. Whether anyone ever has bothered to look this cable? ... I mean the hand brake switch ... So without further ado clamped this lead to a ground wire back on the radio ....
Then the first turn on .... what can I say !!! Without any adjustment, the sound immediately impressed me ...
As I stand in the living room a VSX-920, which has a measurement microphone included, I connected this and start the calibration process. The procedure takes less than ten minutes, has also been successfully completed. The result, however, has not satisfied me: Everything went through the front speakers; the rear were not listening. To move even the fader completely backwards, brought nothing. I switched back to Custom, made tiny changes in the equalizer and turned on the Sound Retriever ... and WOW !!! The sound is fantastic for my ears! ... Sound purists will probably turn up their noses, but it is simply spectacular! Punchy bass, mids and crystal-clear highs saubre ....
Incidentally, the radio sound is absolutely inspiring ... of course, given the limited options that can offer the transmission over the air.
Let's stay on the radio: The reception is excellent ... The MVH-7300 is capable of receiving radio text - and here comes a negative point: In order to see the radio text must scroll through the menu by ... HAAALLOOO! Dear engineers and technicians at Pioneer, when I hear a song on the radio that I like and I do not know, then I want to look at the screen and get the desired information! ... Certainly I would like to not click through the menu and scroll down! Least you can save radio texts to then retrieve the information later - of course you have to call up the text only ...
Then straight on at the operation: I find the menus well structured and clearly; navigating in folders is well resolved and works flawlessly. The operation via joystick I find ok ... but I can imagine that Grobmotoriker here so have their problems; I would also install the radio in no Trekker - on dirt roads, the operation is still somewhat difficult.
The display is really nice ... I've never seen a situation where it would have been no longer read. I read somewhere that the display can be adjusted ... I have this opportunity not been found. When listening to MP3 I can switch on the display of some stupid folder structure instead of title / artist / album ... and I can choose between a handful of backgrounds ... and the color of the button illumination can I change .... but that's it - at least with MP3 elapsed time and remaining time is displayed.
I'll never watch movies in the car, but I already tried it. The image is caused by the razor-sharp size - so I could easily watch movies when I wanted to ... because the films have to be in the way avi container; the codec is dvix.
Loading a film with 700MB lasted about one minute - the access time to MP3 on USB and SD card is virtually imperceptible. Incidentally, the radio on the site continues where it left off when you turn off.
From my perspective, the MVH-7300 is a very strong buy recommendation. I am always excited when I go into the car ... a wonderful sound ....
