The firmware that is factory installed on the Eken is really useless. If you decide to buy the device, you should look for in Google as quickly as possible to custom firmware, download and install, then the Eken is at least usable.
If you do not degree hangs up speed value.
To make it short: the Eken has now times only a 500MHz processor that also must additionally take care of the graphic itself. That makes it not a high-flyer degree what speed is concerned. However, one does not need the yes for all applications. As an eBook reader, the Eken is of good use, also from time to time to receive or play the one or the other game (if you're lucky and it is not too graphic intensive is) emails.
Surfing would theoretically go when scrolling would not nervous so - scrolling degenerates into a more Ruckeltriade.
In summary:

Disadvantages:

- Surfing and scrolling in general is not fun
- Cheap (I had that before?)
- Too slow (in particular)
As an introduction to the tablet world I would not recommend the device. Because you can save a little longer and a better Archos 7 or 7.0 buy.
If you want to have just one eBook reader but with a few more extras you can probably pick up the unit.
