Marie Claire Alain in BACH, especially in this latest version, these are very fondue mixtures, expressive and sometimes almost "dissonant" (here I mean the mixture of improbable stamps) that should make it unreadable counterpoint, but that's not counting the absolute science of organist who gets to the top of his game at the end of his career (this rare enough to be underlined) to make what should be an indescribable hubbub sound intelligible and sensible speech (strictly speaking this version is less clear than those of Walcha or second Marie-Claire Alain, but the speech is not so clear at all ...).
Marie Claire Alain in BACH, again especially in its latest version, is the flexibility and inventiveness of phrasing which in others would unbalance the BACH music and fall flat but here the sublime.
Marie Claire Alain in BACH is the absolute passion inseparable from the faith of this interpreter. Not naive and Beate passion but one that feeds a lifetime questioning to appropriate the work as encounters with other teachers, with students while also nourishing the joys and trials of life .
I thought until recently that Helmut Walcha represented the cosmic dimension "god the father, creator of the universe" of the work of Bach while André Isoir represented the mystical dimension but also visionary spirit of Saint Marie Claire Alain representing Passion of Christ made of flesh and blood and empathy for others. Marie Claire Alain has probably done even better than that and Bach on the organ is not far from representing the Trinity alone.
