Sexuality and death
For Octave Mirbeau, there the man with an instinctive need to kill; and this need is as dailleurs for other authors, directly related to sexual instinct (eg V. Nabokov or FE Sillanpää..): the need to kill is born with the need to eat. Murder is born of love and love reaches its maximum of intensity by murder. This is the same physiological exaltation. They are the same gestures choking, the same bites and it is often the same words, in identical spasms.
The agents
Hawkers bloody devastation caused by cosmic forces of love are judges, soldiers, priests, everywhere, in churches, barracks, temples justice sacharnent death of the oeuvre. And this is the man-individual-and this is the man crowd and this is the beast, the plant, the element, all nature which finally rushes to murder, believing and find out life, a life of satisfaction with furious desires.
The author is extremely hard for religion: Wherever there is bloodshed, legitimizing piracy, to commit, violations to bless, protect hideous shops, we are sure to see this British Tartuffe, prosecute, on the grounds détude scientific or religious proselytism, LOEUVRE abominable Digne for its competitor, the Catholic missionary who also brings civilization at the end of the torches, cutting-edge swords and bayonets.
Politics
Another target of the author's political sarcasm: Not knowing what to do and sentenced by a series of misfortunes to the hard necessity of getting lost or maller throw into the Seine, I presented myself to the supreme legislative resource elections.
This book is a tour de force, which squirt profusely hallucinatory obsessions and dreamlike paintings generated by an amazing vocabulary.
Highly recommended.
