have decided on the filmmaker parasol stand, since the first reviews were very promising. In retrospect, I should have left me rather to the latest reviews, because these say exactly of how the stand behaves in normal soil.
I have previously tested the umbrella stand in our garden before I wanted to use it in the pool or lake.
Positive the lightweight design that struck me, but turned out to be a disadvantage out later. Taken Filmer umbrella stand from the box and "drilled" into the soil. The first 15 cm can be the stand to sink well, then it's over. Due to the lightweight construction you dare not continue to turn, since it can be assumed that the bow will break at higher load. I wanted to avoid pushing. Sorry, the screwed 15 cm rich not to hold a normal umbrella. The stand is including parasol constantly fallen.
For very light and small umbrellas or beach and sandy bottom of the stand may perhaps be sufficient, but not for a normal screen with 2 m diameter and less than 2 kg and medium to hard ground.
I will give the filmmakers parasol stand back and get me then but for a few euros more something from Metal More stable.
With best regards
