I bought Silo October 5th, I just finished. This is a novel whose narrative is intense and gripping. The pace is fast, the construction of the narrative, its cutting, make that one always wishes to read one more chapter. However, the attachment to the characters, their depth, emotions they arouse, suffer some of that frantic pace. The story is original, the idea of placing the rest of humanity in a silo is attractive, full of promise, full of possibilities ... Some are required, some are unfortunately ignored. The author outlines a promising post-apocalyptic world but the reader thirsty for more remains unsatisfied ... Finally, Silo is a great SF novel that it is hard to let go so the narrative is mastered, but it lacks the emotional depth, human, philosophical, clean the great novels in general and Chief oeuvres especially science fiction. The excellent idea of Hugh Howey would, in my opinion, deserved a thousand more pages. You want it develops its World ... Really .. In a few years maybe.
