Introduction:

But back to the low acquired, however defective Duracraft DD TEC10E dehumidifier.
Since I was not willing to spend much money for such a cheap part, I was looking for a cheap used Duracraft,
or as in this case, an extremely favorable defective device.
Said and done, I quickly found one and shortly after that, I felt it in my hands.
I was able to locate the defect shortly after opening the Duracraft.
Which, incidentally, many devices this construction class lament the same defect that usually in the first year or shortly before the end of the second appearance.
It is the starting and operating capacitor of the single-phase motor in the compressor,
This is located on the front of the device above the left in a small metal enclosure that can be opened by means of 1 small Phillips screw.
Since this often fails his service, with under even bursts, here is either a material error, or this type of capacitor is for this
Device completely unsuitable.
In my view, he has been dimensioned too small with 400 volts and 4μf, this is for about 5, - replace 450 volts 6μf,
then also increases the capacity of the refrigerant compressor by about 50%, which in turn comes the Entfeuchtungleistung to Good.
The same applies to the 400 Volt 1.5 uF capacitor starting and operating the built-in motor of the fan, which is also located in a metal housing.
If this against a 2.5 uF 450 Volt (for also about 5, -) replaced, then the Luftumwälzleistung amplified equally by about 50%.
So retrofitted achieved this device least approximate the circumscribed performance of dehumidification.
Of course, this conversion is unfortunately at the expense of power consumption.
Lag the power consumption of Duracraft previously at full throttle (30 degrees and 80% humidity) for declared 175 watts / hour,
so there are now around 250 watts / hour, however, as already mentioned, with just about 50% more power.
But usually all Duracraft DD TEC10E dehumidifier on average consume only 130 watts / hour,
so the consumption is for the conversion in the middle turn at about 200 watts, and thus hardly the specified maximum power consumption.
The conversions were carried out damage neither the motor of the cooling compressor still the motor of the fan, both have a thermal protection circuit,
which has not yet been triggered, even after 24 hours continuous operation with me.
Other:
Anyone with this unit intends a 25m² large room in the reign 20 degrees with 65% humidity and persons residing therein,
get to below 55% humidity, should better look for a high end, or more powerful device.

If you want to use this dehumidifier in continuous operation or even must, can on the back break out the pre-cut plastic ring and there
introduce a 14 mm or 16 mm garden hose, which results in a slightly deeper drain.
So it will save you the constant draining of the water tank, which was a bit tight with about 3 liters.
