Supplement May 2011: I wrote back in 2007, so 4 years ago this review. Three years later the waffle iron was also at Stiftung Warentest test winner. And rightly so! Since I am now since about 5-6 years have the waffle maker to use, I can now say that there is also the long-term test. Even after years of use no slackening of the non-stick properties and no loosening of the coating. I'm still excited!
Addendum October 2013: As in the waffle maker bakes easily and reliably delicious waffles with uniform browning. Still no sticking and no loosening of the coating. The edges have become slightly discolored, but this is to be expected after 7-8 years of intensive use. The function it does not detract.
Here's our favorite recipe for about 20 waffles:
250 g margarine
180 g sugar
6 eggs
1 vanilla sugar
1 shot of rum or rum flavoring
1/2 liter of buttermilk
500 g flour
2 tsp baking powder
