Compared to Canon sx50hs makes the Sony DSC-HX 400 crisp and vibrant images. However, I noticed today while testing that the HX-400V just produces very clear image noise at the telephoto end, which is probably due to the many megapixels. This may the Canon SX 50 HS better. Now you have to think what you want ... sharp full-color images and image noise at the telephoto end (back) of the Sony DSCHX400v, or less noise at the telephoto end and for it not really so sharp and colorful images of the Canon sx50hs.
