... Seems to work "Nikki Sixx" with preference in a musical way. This time a book to the album As with his sensational debut "The Heroin Diaries" reappears. Nevertheless, I receive "This is Gonna Hurt" at first not as it has "The Heroin Diaries" managed, musically speaking there are in this compact nothing to complain about, which is more like a "feel thing", difficult to explain. But with each iteration of this album more begins to act and after the fourth pass it then had fully caught me! Even with "This Is Gonna Hurt" you realize the "Nikki Sixx" has grabbed a lot of heart and passion in his songs and also therefore expect songs like "Live Forever" right under the skin, there are a lot of emotions at the start and it shows one on this album. At this point, however, one must necessarily also the man on the mic to commend for his outstanding vocal performance, "James Michael" manages to express these emotions vocally wonderful. A very strong performance by the American, who has already collaborated with the likes of "Meat Loaf", "Alanis Morissette", "Mötley Crüe" or the "Scorpions". "This is Gonna Hurt" is a very soulful and varied album that at no time is boring, on the contrary, with each run you discover new things and it wins from time to time to class. Besides the aforementioned "live for ever", I would like to ask "Are you with me", "Smile", "Oh my god" and "Goodbye my friends" appoint as Anspieltipps.
My conclusion: Even if "This is Gonna Hurt" not quite to the debut of "Sixx: AM" will come, it's become a very good and exceptional album. Possibly this album needs several passes until it looks right, but it is really very impressive. Who already "The heroine diaries" liked should definitely treat this album - I think it's really great! I would have forgiven 4.5 star, is not, therefore, rounded up to a whopping *****!
