Great Telezoom

I was looking for a compact and lightweight telephoto zoom lens, in order to spare me never have to haul traveling. I used the L-lenses whose excellent quality you realize primarily in use not only at the purse, but also on the shoulder.
The overwhelmingly positive reviews trauend I ordered then the new 55-250mm STM and was initially really skeptical whether the compact and lightweight construction. It qualitatively similar to a L-lens, would be more than unfair, since it is not intended to compete with these perfectly calculated Boliden. Here was constructed on practical use out - and that is Canon very well done!
It works in spite of the all-Kunsstoff housing very stable and high quality, nothing wobbles or rattles. The zoom is very soft and the focus ring well placed and grippy. The new STM-focus is very fast, precise and silent and beats the USM drive in my opinion clearly.

Now the optical performance: As I have clearly runtergeschraubt my expectations, I was very pleasantly surprised. The sharpness is really good, even already at full aperture. Even sharper it is, if you stop down a bit and the image stabilizer off (!). That actually brings a distinct focus and advantage in the modern sensors with the already dizzying ISOs feasible without much noise losses.
A chromatic aberration etc. already visible in details such as fur structure, but can be very easily calculated out automatically and with a high quality visible gain in raw performance demands with the grand Canon software (Update!). The bit more work I take willing to accept, because I get a very flexible and outstanding good in this price range lens that the wallet and easy on the shoulder.
