My impression:
Good accurate writing experience.
Mat keys (though could shine over time, as with my old TT keyboard.)
Blue lighting pleasant adjustable in four stages. (Fn + Num8 = brighter / Fn + Num2 = darker)
Palm rest pleasant, wonders how durable their two thin connecting tongues.
Compact size (important because positioned with me under the desk on keyboard shelf.
German standard keyboard layout.
Cable long enough to reach behind the desk to the side standing PC.
No driver installation required for Windows 8.1.
Very convenient if you can do without macros (use anyway not in games).
Regarding rollover skills I have but you can not test. With PS / 2 Yes to operate N-Key rollover.
Note:
I had initially connected the keyboard alone via PS / 2 connector, which sits on one of the cable ends **.
The PS / 2 connector is not enough if the lighting is supposed to work!
I had also the USB connector of the second connection cable into my PC plug, which is then supplied until the lighting and a 2 port USB hub on the keyboard.
Fortunately, since I would otherwise not have had more free USB port. Had just for the keyboard connector USB device (X-Box 360 Wireless Receiver) off my PC and then connect it again to the USB hub of the keyboard. There, however, the little power-hungry device works as before.
The 2 port USB hub at the ASUS Echelon is, as is usually the case, only passive - ie according to operating instructions not suitable for example for USB HDDs.
(** A Adapter PS / 2 to USB is, if you want to connect the keyboard 2 times via USB Mostly it's the reverse:.. At the end of the cable USB connector + enclosed adapter USB to PS / 2 The ASUS Adapter is in my opinion more meaningful as a PS / 2 connection with N-Key rollover yes for gamers rather offers itself as a USB port with 6 Key rollover. In any case wobbles this fixed PS / 2 connector is not so easy in the PS / 2 interface as USB the do to PS / 2 adapter often.)
-------
For me a bit annoying when keys are bellegt triple, such as
8 [(
is that when the lighting levels 1 and 2 only the top row of the button is clearly legible, ie
8 [
while
(
is barely recognizable.
Actually, you can see the bottom clearly label the keys only on full Beluchtungsstufe (stage 4).
Dimly lit, the characters
"§ / () = ~ @ |? Μ
and the multimedia functions on the keys F1 - F6 (Mute, Volume Up, Volume Down, Play / Pause, Forward, Back)
as well as the lettering "Ins" on NUM0
The arrangement of the characters on some keys is a little different than usual.
(Top row swapped with lower.) Almost all AltGr functions are well lit and visible, while all shift functions poorly lit, are readable.)
Example based on the key 9)]
Common:
)
9]
Echelon:
9] well lit.
) Poorly lit.
Who signs as the need above, reached via Shift looking, often (where was once the = sign?), So it should fully turn up the lights.
In addition, unpleasant but bearable:
a) The lighting you have to re-turn after each boot.
b) NumLock will be forgotten in the start screen of Windows 8.1. You'd have to manually turn on Beadrf. If there but hardly anyone will need. On the Windows desktop, the chosen NumLock setting remains, however.

If the lights are working without a USB connection and would illuminate all the characters equally, there would be five star.
